Ventura County’s favorite event to kick off the holiday season returns with The Collection’s Annual Tree Lighting Celebration. Presented by Oakmont of RiverPark, this free event will commemorate the occasion with the celebratory lighting of The Collection’s holiday tree, followed by The Collection’s fireworks show. Live entertainment will ensue from local favorites including Julien Martinez, who famously performed on NBC’s hit reality show “The Voice,” and dancers from Ventura County Ballet, and a rockin’ live holiday band-- The Show!
Holiday festivities start early with our monthly Makers Market at 11 a.m. on Park View Court in front of The Annex Food Hall. A collection of local artisans will be selling unique handcrafted goods, while guests can enjoy live music provided by Rock City Studios. Enjoy musical talents from No Idea, Peter Blackwelder, Bonnie Boy and Barrellhouse Wailers from 12–5 p.m.
We also invite the community to give back this holiday season. The Collection is partnering with ABC7, and Southern California Firefighters in the Spark of Love Toy Drive. Kicking off at the Annual Tree Lighting Celebration and continuing on through Dec. 24, the community is encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys, gift cards or sports equipment for children and teens at the Spark of Love Collection Boxes.
Little ones can also take pictures at our Character Meet and Greet! From 4 – 6 p.m. your favorite winter characters will be talking a stroll around the center. Be ready for a photo-op with Cinderella, Frozen characters such as Elsa and Anna, and of course Mrs. Claus!
Following the spectacular fireworks show join us at The Annex Food Hall at 830–10 p.m. to enjoy the smooth voice of Vivian Pondella or walk through the The Collection and experience the holiday magic from 8:30–9:30 p.m. at the corner of Starbucks Courtyard with music and vocals by Angelo Arce and next to the fire pit by Maria's Italian Kitchen with modern violinist Peter Blackwelder.
